Wedding Day Photo Guide – 10 Gentle Reminders from Your Photographer
Based on over 120 weddings we've witnessed up close, here's what truly matters.
01. This is your day.
Plan it for yourselves. Live it for yourselves.
Don't spend too much time on the less important details.
They'll fade, but your memories will remain – the emotions, the glances, the touch, the people.
Have fun.
02. Don’t rush anything.
Walking to the ceremony, leaving the house, and entering the venue. First look, first kiss, first dance. Celebrate every moment, pause, and feel the experience. Repeat what matters and do it all as slowly as possible. Slow is elegant.
03. Don’t aim for perfection.
The wind may mess up your hair. A child might cry during the vows.
Your shoes will get dirty. And that’s okay. That’s real life.
And real life is beautiful.
04. You don’t have to know how to pose.
Most of our couples are in front of the camera for the first time. It’s normal.
We’ll help, suggest, and gently guide.
Focus on each other. On your rhythm, your glances, your touch.
Look into the camera only when it feels right. The best photos happen when you forget we're there.
05. Touch often. Speak less.
Hold hands. Hug. Kiss without saying a word.
Talk with your hands, with your body, with closeness.
These gestures say the most.
And they create the most beautiful images.
06. Share time with your people.
Steal a quiet moment with your parents.
Hug your grandparents tight.
Dance with your best friends.
You’ll remember those small moments forever.
07. Keep it minimal during preparations.
The fewer things around, the better.
Order and only the essentials: dress, suit, cosmetics, bouquet.
This keeps your photos clean, timeless, and elegant.
Light! Natural window light is your best friend. If possible, do your preparations in daylight – it always looks best.
08. Take a break – with us.
Treat the portrait session as a walk, a breather after the ceremony.
A moment to be together, away from the noise.
The photos will come naturally.
09. Guests and phones.
Kindly ask your guests not to block your photographer with their phones during the ceremony.
It’s a short, powerful moment – best lived together, not through a screen.
10. Let go. Be present.
Laugh freely. Cry if you feel like it.
Say what you want to say. Dance the way you want to dance.
You have permission to feel it all – this is your story.
Want to look natural and beautiful in your photos?
Just be yourselves, truly.
That’s when the real magic happens.
With love,
Jacob & Christine
