What to Wear for Your Photoshoot in Tenerife
The most important thing during a photoshoot is to feel good in your own skin. The best photos come from real emotions, and you can’t fake comfort. So start with your favorite pieces. Wear something you feel beautiful, confident, and at ease in. That said, after over ten years of photographing couples, families, and expectant mothers in every light and landscape, we’ve noticed a few things that consistently look incredible on camera. Below are our simple but effective guidelines to help you choose the perfect outfit for your session.
1. Choose Timeless Over Trendy
Fast fashion ages quickly. Instead, opt for classic silhouettes, flowing fabrics, and simple cuts. Linen shirts, cotton dresses, knit textures, and earthy fabrics not only photograph well, but they also capture the poetic, natural vibe of Tenerife. You’ll thank yourself later for choosing pieces that don’t scream a particular year or season.
2. Keep Colors Soft and Natural
Muted tones and soft palettes blend beautifully with Tenerife’s landscapes. Think ivory, beige, sage, terracotta, dusty pink, stone grey, or ocean blue. These tones give your photos a cohesive, cinematic feel and help skin tones glow in natural light. Avoid neon, harsh black, large logos, or distracting prints. They tend to clash with the environment and pull attention away from your connection.
3. Dress for Movement
Some of the most memorable images are those of something in motion: your dress catching the wind, hair moving gently across your face, the way a child twirls. Choose outfits that move with you: dresses with flow, open shirts, skirts that lift in the breeze. This adds texture and emotion to your story, creating dynamic frames that feel alive.

If you're being photographed with a partner or your family, aim for a complementary palette rather than identical outfits. Accessories should enhance, not dominate. A delicate necklace, a simple hat, a bouquet, or bare feet can add just the right amount of personality. Choose details that reflect who you are without overpowering the frame. For maternity sessions, a lightweight wrap or fabric can become a storytelling element in itself.

Just remember to bring a towel, a swimsuit, and something dry to change into. You might thank yourself later.
